Serving Others

Leadership begins by knowing how to serve others, and Project Outreach is the key service leadership experience for ninth graders. In March, during Special Programs, the ninth-grade class travels to Lowell, MA where they stay together at the United Church of Christ in Lowell for ten days. These ninth graders and Holderness faculty volunteer at several non-profit organizations including Lowell Transitional Living Center, Christ Church United, and Lazarus House. They learn about those who struggle with persistent 北京快3走势图lessness and hunger and the importance in being other-centered through this service experience.

Participation in Project Outreach satisfies Holderness School's community service requirement, and awakens in many the desire to continue volunteering throughout their time at Holderness and in their lives after graduation
